Responsibilities

Work, support, and advise within multiple cross-disciplinary teams under direct supervision of the Sr. Surface Landman to timely negotiate surface damages, surface easements, access agreements and obtain permits and permissions required in conjunction with the Company’s development, exploration, and operational efforts. 

Ensure the proper and accurate execution and tracking of documents.  

Effectively manage the activities and costs of Field Brokers and Surveyors. 

Actively pursue and maintain industry and agency contacts and landowner relations in order to facilitate agreements and create a positive company image.

Work closely with the operation and production groups to maximize profitability on producing properties.

Handle multiple complex projects, including managing the rig and well hook up schedules, reaching closure within established timeframes.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. Business Management, Land Management, Energy Management or related field preferred.

5+ years industry experience in operations Landman/Land Negotiator roles strongly preferred

Gulf Coast experience preferred.

Strong understanding and experience with applicable county, state and federal regulatory rules and procedures in Nigeria.

Proven ability to lead or direct projects and supply technical expertise, leadership and consultation to professional co-workers to achieve project related goals.

Proficient in writing and negotiating contracts.

Proven history of successful management and negotiations of complex land issues, i.e. ability to see the big picture.

Proven history of maintaining and nurturing business and landowner contacts within geographic area even if not engaged in current business deals.

Excellent business skills and strong ethics.

Strong negotiation skills, with experience recognizing, analyzing and resolving difficult negotiating situations.

PC skills, including MS Office Suite.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Acceptable driving record.
