 We have exciting newly created opportunities for outstanding individuals to work for some of our reputable clients across the Middle East and Africa. They will be expected to work internationally as the roles involves a significant amount of travel. These roles will lead on developing and implementing our clients’ diversification strategy, identifying future commercial and diversification opportunities through partnerships and potential acquisitions.

These opportunities are with a large companies based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE, however, these positions could be based in either East or West Africa. As Strategic Alliance Directors, they will be responsible for maximizing the company’s strategic alliance potentials, crafting competitive and innovative strategic plans to help meet customers’ acquisition and revenue growth targets.

Functions

Directors of Strategic Alliances will include managing strategic relationships with key partners to help us grow our business in West and East Africa. The Directors will be responsible for increasing top line revenue growth and overall market adoption by establishing and growing business relationships and driving partner plans. The ideal candidate will possess both a business development and sales background that enable them to drive successful partnerships, engage at the C-level, as well as a partner background that enables them to easily interact with enterprise customers and company stakeholders and reps.

 

Our ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. The Director of Strategic Alliances will establish/build/grow partnerships, define strategic alliances with clients, contractors, global consulting companies, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for securing external partnerships including contacting top leaders, securing appointments, developing proposals, making presentations, and negotiating business deal points to contract completion.
  • Manage and work with a select group of new and existing technology partners to define and execute joint sales and Go to Market (GTM) programs.
  • Develop a targeted partner plan that maps partner strengths (customer relationship, contracts) to accounts and target opportunities.
  • Responsible for collaborating with sales professionals to drive pipeline generation and acceleration for joint Alliance partner offerings (internal use, customer projects, programs, service offerings, etc.).
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with senior leaders at partner companies to ensure that all parties are satisfied with progress and outcome of partnerships.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create and execute strategic business plans, team development, and marketing enabling a partner to promote and sell company solutions.
  • Drive specific partner sales revenue through management of regular pipeline, opportunities, and business reviews with the partner and all internal stakeholders.
  • Work with CRM systems to establish detailed metrics for tracking purposes.

Requirements:

Work Region: West and East Africa

  • To be successful, you will have at least 4 -7 years of Strategic Business Development experiencing a service or product based industry.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Administration/Management or related field will be preferred.
  • A professional certification in Strategic Business Development is highly essential to be successful in this role, i.e. Business Development Professional (SBDP) or Certified Strategic Alliance Expert (CSAE).
  • Experience driving partner go to market campaigns that include cross-functional teams across sales, marketing, and partners.
  • Experience engaging and influencing C-level executives.
  • Experience owning, driving, and managing partnerships against quarterly targets.
  • Relationship building acumen, with experience driving emerging/disruptive technologies and Service delivery models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as experience working across internal and external organizations.
  • Familiarity with a startup environment, Flexible approach, ability to operate effectively under uncertainty and frequent change – an advantage.
  • Engineering experience or background is a plus but not essential.
